Painting Textile for a Friend

'Textile Tuesdays' as they are affectionately know are always a
hive of activity.
The last Tuesday of every month is 'Own Projects and Block of The Month'.
Here, Carol has made a Keepsake Fabric Folder for a
friend, who has just lost her husband. So Sad.
Carol wanted to paint the fabric folder a fantastical Blue.
Her friends favourite colour.
The Folder has lots of texture, so, it took the paint really well.
The fabric was pieces of recycled upholstery material.
(I have taken a snap shot here but in the rest of the room
many different projects were being created as well as
visitors enjoying the atmosphere and inspiration).

Sophie's Photo Transfer

Both Sophie's who are going to be doing work experience in the studio
in July came along to try Photo Transfer.
Both had photos that they wanted to add to their art portfolio's.
Thank you Heatheranne for bring fabric into the studio as it was
sorted out immediately and used in this project.
Sophie also made a Shabby Chic flower out of an
old net curtain. Looked really antique.

Printing Elephants

Mixed Media Textile Tuesday and Thursday started with
printing elephants this year.
I brought a carved would block Elephant set while I was in Jaipur.
It has four layers and takes quite a lot of concentration to
to match the pattern sections up.
Everyone had a great time and the Elephants all look fantastic.
