Rabbit Duo

The Rabbits are slowly multiplying.

Rhona Creatively Making

Rhona has been creating non stop since she visited the studio.
She kindly made me a picture using sewing inspiration.
Thank you. I immediately hung it on the wall.
Rhona made an apron using recycled tablecloths and fabrics.

Work Experience

Just before Easter Marcie completed two weeks of work experience in The Old Art Room.
Marcie wants to restore art in the future.
While she was in the studio she was able to see many of the sessions and prep for classes.
She was also able to make some elephants and start prep for displays.

Quilt For Phoebe

Daisy has had her little girl called Phoebe.
The baby quilt I started several weeks ago with Jenn is nearly finished.
Jenn is stitching the last of the bias binding.
So we can give it to Daisy and Phoebe as soon as possible.

Lady In A Sari

Gill has been preparing work and research pieces for her Diploma.
Her husband brought her a beautiful blue sari with gold embroidery trim.
We all wanted to see her in it in the studio.
See our adventure on a You Tube video of our holiday in Jaipur with Jamie from Colouricious.

Boys Play Quilt

Suze has had several quilts that she has been asked to make.
This is for a baby boy.
Made of random squares and rectangles.

Embroidered Rabbit

This beautiful rabbit was made out of several embroidered table mats.
She was made by Sylvia who has been saving linen for along time wondering what she was going to do with it as it is not used much on tables today by her family.
When making the rabbit remember to mirror image your pattern pieces to get a left and right but also consider where the embroidery is going to fit in the shape of the pieces.

Star Of The Fair

Each Month on the last Tuesday and Thursday sessions I reveal another
'Block of the Month' each one is a Star.
When arranged and sewn together
they will form a wall hanging or quilt at the end of the Summer.

Duck Cot Quilt

Janet has begun a cot quilt for a new baby due to arrive soon.
They know its a little boy.
I love the fresh colours in this.

Heather's Dress with Smocking

With everyone looking in their cupboards and Spring Cleaning.
Heather found this dress. It was hers when she was six years old.
She can remember that her Mother made three of these dresses for Heather and her sisters.
Each one was smocked with such detail.
So beautiful to see and share.
